Do you mean the (sort of) bisexual slime girl with the ability to transform from flat chest to huge breasts and back again, or are we talking the maid cosplayer with the wheelchair because she's a mermaid, and thus can't walk?
The latter. Sue isn't interested in romance. I think she's affectionate, playful even, but she doesn't seem to be complex enough to have romantic or even sexual feelings. At this point anyway.
Mero on the other hand...is very dangerous. She's not aggressive or assertive like the other girls, thus she stands out. She's meek and gives an air of vunerability without coming off as being completely helpless or a burdeon. She's actually capable in her own way, avoiding the government men for as long as she did.
Good point. All the other monster-girls are rather active and honestly kind of bossy (even if they mean no harm with it), so Mero's more ladylike and passive style does have an unique appeal. Yeah, that could make her dangerous competition.
Although I'm pretty sure Miia will win in the end. It's an unwritten rule in harem stories that the first girl introduces usually ends up with the guy in the end.
I've never seen a harem story where the last girl wins, and they can't possibly introduce a childhood friend since that would mean a human girl in a manga centered around monster fetishism.

Plus, this is Miia's year, so things have to go well for her!
