The score is a rating given by Priv+ account holders on an image. One would suppose through the Danbooru system that it's meant for voting on only the visual quality of the images, but not only is that based on perspective to begin with, but any voting system is subject to the people using it. I tend to vote up images that are eyecatching, have realistic proportions, great coloring, and clean linework while voting down images involving impossibly huge breasts, sexual-to-the-point-of-silly situations, or downright terrible artistic quality. But that's just myself; others will all vote on different basis.

Thank you for the nice and clear explanation. After reviewing the original size, I can see it was a bit blurry. I through it had a fitting place in the pool but oh well.
Even without the blurriness, screencaps of animes that aren't purposeful "eyecatch" artworks are extremely unlikely to get approved, especially when they have hard translations.
Danbooru is more for character design artwork, gag doujin type things, and of course, porn.
There are exceptions even to that rule. There are screen caps with a high score that isn't an eyecatch because along with the subtitle(the canon one, not edited with photoshop) it's just so particulary funny.
Simple artwork gets by on Danbooru if it's Funny enough or dramatic enough.
