I like two things in this story: First there's this mix of crazy badass fights with the occasional silliness (Remilia entering the room a few pages ago) that I feel it's very appropriate for Gensokyo. This is the place where people drink tea after they finish trying to kill each other, after all.
Second is that Yokochou remember how overpowered vampires are in Gensokyo and draws the fights pretty much how I imagine them: Remilia isn't a technical fighter like Ran or even Meiling. She's merely super strong and fast and has a lot of magical cannons to summon. Her power simply guided her to the fight.
Which makes me curious to see how he'll deal with Flandre. Flan is super strong and fast AND has a power to end fights. And I don't think people inside Gensokyo already noticed that.

AGREED! hmmm...I wonder if Remi is asking Patchy to somehow seal Yukari's movements since she saw how annoying her gapping powers are. I've always wanted to see how she'd react to that. I hope Remi manages to scratch her face at least once though^^
It seems the untranslated pages are the ones with the walls of texts that cover the whole page and therefore will probably take longer to get translated. I'm just thrilled its making progress translation wise and update wise with the story. Many thanks to all who have contributed to the current translations.

Except they don't actually try to kill each other in the source material, only in the fanfictions like this one.
The denizens of gensokyo understand this isn't some DBZ world with thousands of acres of desert everywhere to have pissing contests with each other and that being senselessly overaggressive is self-destuctive. They have to get along and play nice or their perfect little time-lost paradise will be reduced to a smoking crater. Hence the danmaku spellcard rules being used as the primary means of conflict resolution (or creation).
On a personal note: An overaching theme I always see in the series has seemed to be about beings of incomparable power choosing not to be blood-thirsty warmongers, but instead defy the old adage of "power corrupts" and live in a benign relatively peacefully way in their little magical nook of the world. This is why I personally find serious shounen manga plots in touhou fanworks to be awkward and out of place.
@Explosion: While you're right about the current state of Gensokyo, this wasn't true in the past. At some point in the past, before the spellcard rules, things were decided in a more deadly way.
How deadly ZUN didn't tell so it's up to each one's tastes, but the fact that the spellcard rules were created so that youkai could fight without the risk of death implies that such risk existed before.
Smooth talking. You truly are......a "Devil".Yes, I am.I need your help. The situation might be dire, but together "we" can overturn it.It is an honor,my dear sorceress.
