Accidentally eating pork while being a muslim while on vacation overseas....I had that moment.

the practice of asking before taking anything. indeed useful
so far managed to avoid from accidentally eating pork though throughout my stay in Australia (then again, halal meat a plenty)
post-translation: dammit Vegas, that's not a good thing to do y'know D:

So what happens if you eat pork anyways? you go straight to "muslim hell" or something?
PanzerIV
If you eat it without knowing it is okay. But, if you eat it WITH nowing it . . . Yeah, hello "Hell".

In my case, it was on a breakfast in a hotel in Amsterdam.
I asked the attendant "Which of these meat is pork?"
He said "None of these are pork."
Then my friend came in and asked the other attendant, "Is any of these meat pork?"
And the attendant goes "this one is pork"
And I went "OMG, I JUST ATE THAT!!"
Then I learned to ask TWICE before eating anything foreign.

oh dearie, that's pretty bad D: then again, indeed it is. that is what usually happens

Did he told them about no alchohol either ?
Probably not straight, but still, any extra weight of sin pulling you down to hell is unwelcomed.
Also the hardliner will treat those ingredients like biohazard material. "this product might contain trace of pork or lard" is enough to say it's a no-no like almond and shelfish to peoples allergic to it, so the cooking utensils have to be properly separated.

Nah, jews and catholics also have prohibition against certain foods (catholics only on certain days). If you break that, specially if it's unknowingly, you do some extra praying and it's alright again.

Panel 3 is glorious.

I thought the ban on Pork was more that the Muslims consider it something like the dirtiest animals in existence and are suppose to be disgusted by the thought of eating it. Is that not the case?

Nah we dont consider pigs to be dirty or anything, its the "in-case-shit-happens" food. To muslims, god reserved pigs to be eaten during strife, war, survival etc. If none of this conditions meet, we aren't allowed to eat it. In fact we are allowed to rare pigs too.

Makes sense. Sinning is preferable to starvation.

I think that every abrahamic religion hold suicide to be far worse than other "lesser" breach in your faith, at least for the Jewish there's the whole "You have to live by the law, not die by it"

Now that I think of it, at least Vegas didn't say it was snake meat or something similar- that would have most likely sent poor Helepolis beelining straight for the washroom.
