Are those wings enough to tag Nue?

Looks like Sanae-san does not get Kogasa-san's joke....It seems that the joke is a bit too old.

    >Generation gap!
Hmm? So, Sanae-san is much(?) younger than Kogasa-san? :3

    Zekana

I wonder if this memory was brought about by Tani_takeshi's comic (post #1160860)
...probably not but it's funny seeing the two draw a comic about the same thing.

    Moonspeaker

Or so I say, but even Sanae-san's old enough that it wouldn't odd for her to have seen it. :-) The joke this strip will leave the young folks behind.

    Oh, wait—not that Sanae-san isn't young or—aaagh...stop...pichuuun

By the way, I get the feeling this episode of Sysyl Mysyl was story about Lotteria.

Reader-added tags include "Even folks in their early 20's know this", "Nueee", " Michael Tomioka ", and "It became a video game too".

The survey lets readers pick favorites:

There sure are tons of commercial-based heroes!
    • Yakisoban
    • Aminonger
    • The Chantorians
    • Number 1 Knight
    • Hikyakuter

Aminonger: A Goranger parody team in commercials for Kirin Beverage's "Amino Suppli" soft drink
Chantorians: Aliens from the planet Chant, appearing in commercials for ACOM's "Mujin-kun" automated loan machines
Number 1 Night: Mascot appearing in commercials for Dai-ichi (#1) Life Insurance. "Dai-ichi de nai to" roughly means "It's got to be Dai-ichi."
Hikyakuter: From "hikyaku" (express messenger, postman, courier), a character representing Sagawa Express, a parcel delivery service in the Kansai region. He would personally deliver gifts to parties, hospital rooms, etc. in costume.

This one needed enough research that I briefly wondered whether I was translating a Handsomen strip...

Why not? They're acquaintances, if not friends.

Well, I didn't really get it either. I was expecting a UFO joke (with Nue somehow being involved). Now that I've seen some of the background information (thanks Moonspeaker!) I can get a little chuckle. I'd probably get the joke better if I grew up in Japan, though.

For the poll, Hikyakuter, because doing deliveries in costume sounds like a whole lot of fun!

And here I was thinking you were just encyclopedic on all matters Japanese. The illusion is broken, dreams shattered, etc.

Thanks as always for your hard work, Moonspeaker.

Yes, both here and on those Handsomen strips!
