Aya never really struck me as a 'haul around giant weapons' type character.
I mean, she has a fan that controls the wind and can fly around at the speed of sound or something. A giant pick(?) doesn't seem like it would be very useful in that capacity.

Quite. As I said, being able to fly really fast and control the wind, in addition to the usual danmaku, would normally seem to do it.
