Not everything is all sex, violence, and interdimensional trips to uranus you know. 軽音 doesn't role like that. I take it this is the first time you've not watched a shounen?

Why not drink some tea and forget about our different opinions on what makes a good or bad anime. And if tea doesn't help I have some cake for you too. After all, there isn't anything more exciting than tea and cake riiiight?

K-On (and Lucky Star, Hidamari Sketch and the seemingly thousands of similar series) is "moé porn"*. It's supposed to be 22 minutes of teenage girls doing inconsequential cute and/or funny things. So congratulations on missing the show's entire point.
*the actual name for this genre is supposedly "Slice of Life", but lets be honest here.
Seinfeld was famously a "show about nothing", and many western sitcoms are just a group of characters in arbitrary situations. "Nothing happens" (at least, that doesn't get undone by the end of the show) in The Simpsons, either, and generally speaking, most people thought the show was good at some point in its length. (Plus Family Guy and Futurama...)
You can hate sitcoms or character-driven plots all you like, but don't act like it's incomprehensible that anyone would ever like them.
And don't equate "slice of life" with "moe porn". There are plenty of "slice of life" series that aren't moe. "Rumbling Hearts" and "Diamond Daydreams" come to mind.
