I wonder how will this story look like in the manga daily lives with monster girls... from how I see it its also using the encyclopedia for character basis... so far lamia and harpy is in

My Life With Monster Girl has always had Lamia and Harpy.

Two of the most powerful creatures fighting for the same person? Man... can you say collateral damage to the extreme?

On a side note now I want to se the same thing with the ogre and oni(s).

Daily life with monster girl actually predates the encyclopedia, I believe. The focuses of that series are slime, mermaid, centaur, harpy, arachne and lamia (if we count the original comics which were not serialized). Lamia, harpy and Centaur are all confirmed for the serialized comic. Any new monster girls in that series will be drawn from the author's own work, not from the encyclopedia (which is Cross's intellectual property).

The Daily Life With Monster Girl series and the Monster Girl Encyclopedia are completely unrelated, not sure how you got them mixed up. The former is all about monsters and humans trying to live in some kind of peaceful relationship based on mutual attraction. In the latter, any mortal man risks getting raped and/or killed at any moment. I'd say I prefer the first one a lot more.

They don't even share the same monster designs.

actually the manga Okayado made a published version of Daily Life with a Monster Girl this time its a Harem situation and theres a oneshot called Deadline Summoner which has Mermaid,Scylla, Werewolf, Frankenstein?, Mummy, Centaur, Dullahan, Alruane as part of the one-shot cast... some of them are dead ringers to the encyclopedia so I dunno http://www.batoto.net/read/_/111205/deadline-summonnr_by_japanzai/37
