If it's about characters' personality deviating from canon or generally accepted fanon... well, there's a lot of those, but they don't get that much of hate...

Eh I don't mind the art style. I think as long as the style is consistent and there isn't anything too derpy with the picture, it should be fine on danbooru. Especially if the comics itself is amusing.

Just my opinion, and I've seen much worse on Danbooru.

Your personal morality doesn't change the quality of the image. A shit drawing of a nun giving food to orphans is still badly drawn, a renaissance painting of a little girl being raped is still made with skill.　This is an art site, not a morality index.　There's classic art by world famous artists that feature sex, naked children and even rape. Why can't all the galleries just have childrens' drawings of Barney the Dinosaur in instead, right?

I don't see what the problem is with this pool. I think people are just being tight asses about this artist being American and screwing with the standard fanon. Then again, the entire cast can range from sweet orphan hugging saints to raging lesbian rapists bent on riding anything that moves so I don't see the problem with portraying them as anything else but. That said, Cirno as a stereotypical Italian is fucking hilarious. Still waiting for Yuugi as a stereotypical Russian.
So come ooon guys, just chill and enjoy the stupid Touhou shenanigans like we always do. And if it isn't to your liking, at least stop trying to ruin it for everyone else.

Far more? Like what? Give me one example of how it's different rather than just vaguely implying things you assume are true because you're not thinking for yourself. I hate to break it to you, but there's no more depth to a painting about rape just because it's really old, or pictures of naked kids or pictures of gratuitous violence. The stories they're often based on were just cool stories at the time, not the classic epics we think of them as being now. The anime of the time, or the airport novels of the time, if you like.

But regardless of the artist that really doesn't excuse the quality of some of the stuff, so please don't assume people complain just because something's drawn by a guy from the west.

I hope you seriously aren't trying to compare anime porn to renaissance works. I don't think 99 percent of whats uploaded here can even be remotely compared to renaissance work.

And of that one percent, next to none of it is related to what we have for questionable/explicit content.

While there is the argument that most of what is "classic" today was meant for mainstream consumption, comparing what is arguably the best of the day to things posted on danbooru, I must repeat again, is folly.
