I consider Adell more of a "tsun-baka", really. Too dense to catch on to Rozy's feelings most of the time, and the rest, he's usually in "battle maniac mode".

I disagree. By the end of the game it's pretty obvious they love each other, just neither of them is willing to admit it. (Etna even threatens "to get out the hose")
This continues in Disgaea 3, where they're both DLC characters. Each of them tries to join Evil Academy to earn money so they can buy the other a gift. But when pressed on who they're buying something for, they clam up.
Still, it's much more adorable to watch than the ever-present perverted-moron and violent-psycho-bitch stereotype.
I'll have to replay D2 again, because I got the best ending, and I don't remember any significant romantic acknowledgement on Adell's part until the big kiss that rescues Rozy from being True Zenon.
