Holy crud, was Yukari's text a pain to translate. Archaic grammar, punctuation and kanji, and printed rather small. I'm still not sure I got it all right.

    OTOH, new Gensou Koumuten—hurray!

Looked like a typo, so I switched the words around; apologies if I derped anything up in the process.

Too bad me or anyone else hasn't been able to get the daiyousei doujin here, all the first 3 ones are here now.

It might be against the rules to have complete doujins here, but I haven't found anywhere selling them that ships abroad and it would have been a real shame had we never seen them, no?

If it's this guy's works, then I don't think anyone's going to bat an eyelid.

Unless I missed something about him continuing it, there is not 'complete' Daiyousei doujin, as he abandoned it after the Tsunami due to how...weighty it was supposed to be as well as the fact that it prominently involved a flood. He showed the incomplete work and then explained why he shelved it.

That is indeed the case. I don't think we can ever expect to see the doujin in completed form, given the tsunami.

I wonder. It was supposed to be released soon, so I guess it was (almost) complete.

Man I love Gensoukoumuten stuff. He really expands the whole universe of Gensokyo that he sees, and makes it less like the setting for a story, and more like a vibrant living world that continues to move and grow even as we reach the last page of each of his work. His vision of Gensokyo may be the most unique and lively I've ever seen.

And somehow he makes it work. That's something that can't be stated enough, he gave us an awesome old postman, a pair of adoptive parents named Hansel and Gretel, showed us Aya's family, let Patchy find a relationship with some guy, and introduced a host of original characters throughout the stories while doing so. Usually someone doing something like that would get mocked for their attempt but he's SO DAMN GOOD we openly praise him.

To me, that is as remarkable as anything in the stories.

Dante Sauro, one of his OCs who only appears in one story, was considered awesome enough to warrant his own character tag.

    That's Gensoukoumuten in a nutshell.

Publication Proposal: Eight Views of Gensokyo It has been over a century since the Great Hakurei Barrier was established. In that time, Gensokyo has grown ever more prosperous. But the historical details of a multitude of famous temples and locales, highly respectable shrines and ruins, are unknown, and the citizenry are largely ignorant of them. Therefore, I am hoping to establish here the Eight Views of Gensokyo, compiled to assist in pilgrimage excursions, to cultivate widely all the geography about us and provide direct, friendly encounters with a variety of locales. —Yakumo Yukari President, Border Corp.
