If they expect us to take this "reboot" (was it confirmed as one, or are we somehow supposed to believe this is a "prequel" set even further back than 3?) they are sorely mistaken. It tried way to hard to look GRITTY AND SERIOUS which (except for 2) DMC has never tried to be and that worked for it.

The gameplay was..I don't know, way to spastic and un DMC like.

The game is supposed to be another prequel going further back than 3. It's supposed to explain how Dante became the famous Devil Hunter he is today. But it still kind of pisses me off how he looks so.....unoriginal.

Whoa, now that you mention it...hopefully he becomes the Dante we all know and love over the course of the game, or at least has his personality. So long as this reboot keeps Dante's personality, I'll be happy.

Yeah.... DMC: Devil May Cry is a reboot; it's going to be developed by Ninja Theory, a Western developer.. Which is pretty funny considering that the original's story was no where close to finish (i.e. pre-DMC2). :X

If i remember correctly... evony and ivory releases red blast thingies not blue(blue blast thingy is released by Blue Rose).. And Rebellion couldn't change it's form, right?

Dante couldn't also smash the ground so hard without any weapons like giglamesh(the one you acquired after beating the She Viper in DMC 4 using Dante, i forgot the correct spelling of the weapon, sorry)

This is a reboot of the series. Meaning everything is new, setting, design, etc. That's the only official word on Capcom.

Capcom now says that this is a different universe than the other DMC

Because they know they fucked up alot more then they bargained for..they assumed a handful of people would complain while the rest look on interested. NOT to have the full force of the internet in both NA AND JP flat out say 'DO NOT WANT'...

That and the timing of this could be problematic in the long run, the stink of this could effect future releases of DMC if it remained canon, which if they didn't guess it by now, is a VERY beloved series.

As for NT...well...they're fucked, this announcement was released BEFORE Enslaved is set to be released and even before people were already scrutinizing it because of the disappointment of Heavenly Sword. With the announcement of this 'reboot' and the backlash, the public eye is going to HEAVILY judging the game now.

So NT has ALOT to lose if Enslaved isn't received well...Capcom will end up just fine.
