Haven't actually played any of them, I just know they exist, are pretty old, and were pretty popular. And they're the basis of the Triangle Hearts OVA and Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's.
The anime is a different reality from the game. In the game (and the OVA) her dad died while doing some ninja-stuff. (Very briefly alluded to in the hot-springs episode in the first series, the mother is talking to the father about staying with the bakery and he agrees to stop being a ninja) A lot of the characters related to the anime are quite different too. Like Lindy is a fairy or something? And her magical pet is more of a small fox than a ferret... or something.
