actually,most country is similiar regarding this...so its not that surprising..

personally I think it was quite a nice turn at the end though..pretty unexpected and tastefully angsty..you don't find this kind of conflict in most of Touhou Yuri doujins y'know..

Many people don't like many things. I'm not too fond of gay men/yaoi, etc however I wouldn't discriminate against them just because I don't like gay men. People who were brought up on strict religious backgrounds or have had bad experiences with homosexuals usually tend to have a strong dislike towards others. Who knows.

I just chalk it up to a "sad dose of reality."

That's selling Japan short, I think. Anything that makes one stand out at all can and will be hammered down upon hard until you either get back into place or break from the pressure.

Yep that does sound like Japan indeed and there's other kinds of folks they hammer down on. But it's rather hypocritical considering how there was cases of homosexuality in Japan's past.
