Many artists draw them like that, and since Zun itself drawings are quite... vague, I guess thats all there is to it

I think the bigger question here is, "Why would you make a drug with those specific effects?" In the interest of professionalism, of course.

I think I came up with a solution to this problem. Both Alice and Reisen need to take Eirin's catgirl drug. It won't be exactly cabbits, but it's close enough.

I told you so~ We did get some nice art out of this however, and who knows, maybe Alice will sill be attracted to Reisen in her tsundere way now.

all the moon rabbit soldiers have button earrings on the base of their ears like that, its just a really strange detail and makes a lot of people think that they are attached like that
