This looks like it could be soul crushing depressing, if my guess is right Kanako and Suwako have run out of faith and are fading away(Kanako's lower half is transparent-ish). Poor Sanae

Well to prevent it make it a once in a while trip to go up there and give them some faith. I guess that's the death of a God for you. If Kanako didn't do this it woulda been Suwako.

Thanks for that i didn't even realize that Suwako was still solid. Still bad to lose a parent and friend, I just realize how bad it is for Suwako who has been with Kanako for generations.

yeah it is. Sanae has to gather faith for 2 and if gods in gensokyo die by losing faith well....I guess Kanako's plan to make herself the frontal figure while Suwako does the background work saved Sanae's blood family in the end as well. if they lost faith, Kanako is the one who dies instead of Suwako since Kanako is the "salesmans who gets the credit" even though Suwako does the work. Kinda like a buffer.

Now the picture is tolerable.

I saw this image in way lower scale few days ago and i didn't see that Kanako was fading away and I was like "wtf is that?" Now when i looked at this i cried and understood what i didn't before

Chill out, men. For the god to disappear, every single person who recognizes the god as a god has to either die or lose their faith. And that's pretty much fucking impossible given the current Touhou fanbase, especially Suwa shrine fans.
