I remember my Game Brick.
Spent so much time playing on it. It went through two busted screens and a wrecked speaker, had been dropped dozens of times by my sister - usually onto hard concrete - and was terrorized by a sick cat, and yet it still played.
One day, it got stolen, and I had to shell out for a Game Boy Color (which also still works to this day).
Thank you, Nintendo, for those days when everything you made was nearly invincible.
Those things were so beast. A friend of mine lost his in his front lawn one time... and it got RAINED on. Besides a stray, white, horizontal line across the screen, it kept on keepin' on.

I know what you mean, mine had a day inside my schoolbag with a opened bottle of suntan lotion which got inside everywhere (easy to tell because mine was the transparent kind) and it still worked fine afterwards...
In fact, I have it right now and it still works...

Haha. When the nuclear winter comes, only two things will stand: roaches, and Game Boys. At least they'll have something to pass the time.
I've had two DS Lites drop on me, and in both cases the right corner with the lights broke off and therefore the hinge was basically rendered useless. Tried to get a replacement case, performed surgery, screwed up the top screen etc. etc.

Eh, he doesnt have the cartridge properly inserted. That's why it doesnt function.
This is true. It needs to be all the way in, or else the slide won't let you turn the power turn on. The game is also one of the GB/GBC cartriges with the space at the top, like Link's Awakening DX (which was WAYY too easy compared to the original).
I forgot to take the batteries out of mine, and they decayed and leaked acid all over the compartment. It sadly fails to function anymore.
yeah, I still have one, and use it regularly to play pokemon yellow because my gba's battery life is atrocious.
though in reference to people mentioning that they have working gb's and non working current systems, it because THEY MADE THINGS TO LAST!! this shit nowadays is cheap shit.
After seeing this image, I had to go and dig out my old GB equipment.
My GB Color still works, but my Pocket (bought back when it first came out, over half a lifetime ago) refuses to stay on for more than a second. I spent a good hour opening it up and cleaning various gunk out of it, but to no avail.

Depressing to realize there are kids out there right now playing on their DSes that DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS IS. :'-(
I remember those days fondly, and now I know that those days will never be relived. We should dedicate ourselves to let the new generations know just how our past meant to us, and how much their's will mean to them.
I don't think kids today will have the chance to play the classic games... I don't know if they fixed this in more recent models, but on the first ds model you can't play gameboy or gameboy color games. I broke my gameboy color, advance, and 2 sp's, so now I can't play the old games anymore :'(
Weep not, for Game Bricks that have left this world have moved on to a better place, a place where we to will someday go so we may be reunited; the dentist's office.
Sigh~ I never got one. I wished my parents would have bought me a GB. Well, a childhood friend of mine had one and everytime I went to visit them I played on it(Pokemon, yay!).
Best. Hours. In. My. Life.
I miss you, Game Boy. *goes into a dark corner, curls up into a ball... sob*
I still have my grape GBC, still works fine, except the image doesn't go away immediately when I turn it off. Saddly the same can't be said for several of the games I have to go with it. The internal batteries dried out on my Heroes of Might and Magic game and both my Zelda Oracle games, and Magi Nation went through the wash a few years back :/. God, I was like, six when I got the thing. I still use the bugger though, since my DS doesn't let me insert GB/GBC games, just DS and GBA carts.
I seriously cried there just a minute ago.....not gonna cry again, NOT GONNA CRY AGAIN!!
