Ox (noun): the adult castrated male of the genus Bos, used chiefly as a draft animal.
So... unless you are into male eunuchs, they might as well stick to the females of the species.
OKAY, settle down there. I had to wiki it. In case anyone else is wallowing in ignorance like me, "Oxen (singular ox) are cattle trained as draft animals. Often they are adult, castrated males."
