The Silent Shell
Literally: The Silent Armored Riot Squad. 攻殻機動隊 (Koukaku Kidoutai - Armored Riot Squad) is the original title of Ghost in the Shell. 沈黙の戦艦 (Chinmoku no Senkan - The Silent Battleship) is the Japanese title of the movie Under Siege, starring Steven Seagal; due to its success, the format 沈黙の... was used for the Japanese title of many other Seagal flicks. Many of Seagal's films also show a pattern in their original titles, namely, the "Three Word Title". Putting it all together, the translation might become something like "The Silent Ghost".

over 3 years agoJust saw this pic and tried to translate this. I even looked up IMDB for the representing film.
Perhaps someone else can translate the main title? It says "Ghost in the shell of Silence" but that doesn't make much sence to me (who don't know any Segal movies)
