There's a site that has a designer for Takara and he also likes Nanoha (drew transforming versions of the characters). That's the only connection I can think of.
Makes a bit more sense than the odd 2chan meme that involves Transformers with the grils from "Twin Princesses of the Mysterious Star".
You know... the date this art was drawn has a striking resemblance to the date when a gorilla broke out of the zoo and went on a rampage. Maybe that's the refference.
