Is this really that unlikely of a crossover? When I saw Frieza for the first time as a kid, Mewtwo was the first thing to come to mind. Surely it can't be that uncommon of a connection...
DTM21, you bitter about Pokemon? You just shouldn't have caught that Missngno. ;)
And, actually, the cards became a sensation on their own, if I recall. It's the video games, as well as decent marketing of a product that does well with kids, that really made it skyrocket.
DB and Pokemon are one and the same. Whatever intentions Akira Toriyama originally had for DB are moot and have been ever since DB began to be trotted out after it should have ended for the sole purpose of selling more magazines, toys, video games and other merchandise to kids, the exact same thing Pokemon does.
That's usually how anime works; you don't make money off the show itself, but the sale of products/merchandise/novelties/etc that have resemblance to the series. Pokemon fairs better because it targets a larger audience (age 10 yrs) rather than DB (males age 13 yrs).
As for who would win, it all depends on Meotwo's nature and whether or not Frieza gets Dark STAB

Which one's the father and which is the son? The picture makes it look like Mewtwo is the father from positions and expressions, but Mewtwo is only a few years old, whereas Freeza is at least forty...
personally i think pokemon was all about the games. THOSE were awesome and easily could make you forget about the show. They could even be epic, look at red. other than that, this picture is easily a favorite. two moments of nostalgia at once.

But I've only seen 1 of them cause the destruction of a planet.

That being said, Mewtwo still takes this.

As for an argument from the other show's perspective, has Frieza ever demonstrated any defense against telepathic attacks?
darcmistes
3 months agoHe could have secondary Dark typing which would make him immune to Meotwo's STAB. Meotwo still has Aura Sphere and Focus Miss so it can go either way.
