Reason: Fairly obvious as to why, I guess?

I disagree. I don't think everything that currently would count as twin_braids would count as twintails. Examples post #393614, post #10375, post #23802.

Here is one that has both twin_tails and twin_braids on the same character post #117553.

I will admit there are a lot of braided twintails.

I'm not so sure about this. izayoi_sakuya has twin_braids but people (almost) never tag her with twintails, which seems to suggest that most people don't think her hairstyle is twintails.

In forum #1862 it was decided to have twintails exclusively non-braided.

On this subject, is there any reason why twin_braids is two words while twintails is one word? It seems inconsistent.

Just because twintails has always been written as one word, I imagine. I never really see anyone separate them. On the other hand, nobody writes "twinbraids". They're not consistent with each other, but rather consistent with usage.

And yeah, no implication, twintails are non-braided on danbooru.
