private pixiv image source

encountered post #1088342 and was on my way to modify the source url, but i was greeted with:

閲覧したい場合はマイピク申請を行い、ダルさんとマイピクになりましょう

i would assume that i must be friends with the artist first in order to view his work. i'll just ask if there's a way to directly access the image like copy-pasting the pixiv image id against the pixiv server where the artist's similar works were hosted and appending .jpg/.jpe/.png/.gif etc? tried http://img21.pixiv.net/img/niconicozombie/3012769.* but failed. or there's no way to correct the url unless being friends with the artist?

Well, the source is pretty clearly http://img21.pixiv.net/img/niconicozombie/3012769.jpg but there's an issue with that image's resolution: it could be a sample (thumbnail) so we can't truthfully patch the source without knowing which it is.

That's correct. This is one of the "MyPick" images mentioned in forum #50128. The true URL includes random junk after the ID, e.g. "http://img13.pixiv.net/img/-/14888243_02b50826d0.png".
