Tag population/implimentation: pat

post #1098790 brought this to my attention. Searching the wiki showed no "pat on the back/shoulder tag", but after looking through the tags, I found pat and made a quick wiki page.

There are a couple of concepts flying around the 32 posts with the tag. Should we lump them all together? If we split them, how many cases do we consider?

• Congratulating another
• Subset of petting post #1049178 (I'm not sure this should count, a pat is the slapping motion, petting is the rubbing after)
• Semi hug/slap on the back/shoulder
• Patting a thing
• Gesturing/offering a seat post #839587
• Patting out the lumps in a pillow
• Exercise/warming up

Any reason why the posts here can't be tagged with the hand_on_* tags? It would seem redundant since anything with pat would qualify for at least one of those tags, and it would be difficult to define what constitutes a pat from a static image.

post #1098790, post #1022382, and post #839587 provided by Serlo do provide visual cues that there is movement of the arm and that they weren't static. post #1098790 and post #1022382 use that kind of "poof" impact squiggle, while post #839587 has motion lines. So patting does have a visual basis that could be used for tagging purposes.
