Replacing Fem Yuugi pool with tag

Posted under General

pool #1643 - Fem Yuugi, reported multiple times in the pointless pools thread, covers 2 unrelated concepts.

The argument for keeping the pool was that it not only is a hoshigume_yuugi -muscle search, but also covers Yuugi drawn in this costume (post #307270). Yuugi is drawn "with a feminine figure" just as often as any other character.

Therefore, I suggest creating a tag for her alternate costume, tagging all images in the pool for which it applies and then deleting the pool.
hoshiguma_yuugi_(something here), maybe (promo). Not (alphes), because he may draw her in any other costume should she appear in the fighting games one day.

I'd argue for a cleanup, rather than a deletion. The pool's name suggests to me that it's to be used to catch pictures where the character - who is normally depicted in a masculine or tomboyish style - is drawn much more feminine than usual.

Case in point, post #288117. It's not her Alphes kimono, it most definitely is feminine, and thus fits the theme appropriately.

I think before doing a cleanup, the description of the pool should either be broadened, or more accurate. the description in itself is too vague to know whether something should go into the pool or not.

The issue at the core of whether the pool is valuable, I think, is whether or not Yuugi is really depicted as 'feminine' less often than the average character, and answering that question requires a definition of 'feminine', which is a powder keg I would just as soon not stand on.

It seems pretty clear to me that her alternate outfit is taggable, though, so I populated hoshiguma_yuugi_(promo).

That's the thing, though. Is she really drawn that way more often than not? A quick browsing of her tag doesn't really seem to support it. There are a few artists, like Ario, that like to draw her often with respect to the fact that she's supposed to be an oni, but they really aren't the majority.

And the same thing goes for Yoshika and her pool. Any character trait that a female character has that conflicts with traditional female appeal is going to have it be ignored more often than not in favor of making them more cute or sexy. Guys like girls being girls. There really doesn't need to be a pool every time something like this goes overlooked.

If anything, the opposite should be pooled, but conveniently enough there are tags for them.

I'd like to resume this so that it may finally reach a conclusion.

My standpoint is the same as Rampardos's. There is no need for a pool of "character - feature" when we can tag "character + feature" and the chance that "feature" belongs to another character is low enough. We can also discuss the Yoshika pool after this.
