Rifyu

Checking the amount of eyeballs a picture gets is a much better indicator of whether something should be kept than asking a couple guys on the forum and then mashing delete before anyone even gets a chance to answer. I doubt most members even visit the forum, it's not really the selling point of this place.

I could care less about the Rifyu comics (they were mediocre at best), but the way 葉月 went about this was just silly. Just randomly deleting a good 25 or so images, only getting the input of two people, just because one person doesn't like them? If every user had the power and self-control of 葉月, the database would be completely empty within 24 hours.

So truth be told, do what you want with the Rifyu comics; what's done is done. But in future, please show some responsibility around mod-powers - I'd hate to see Danbooru become another TFW or Tsuki-board.

Let's keep this straight: 葉月's one and only mistake is in how he delete the images without flagging.

Like how everyone is saying they like rifyu comics, he has the right to not like those, neither opinion is wrong nor immature. Pursuing further on this argument is unproductive.

Why do I have to say this? Because 葉月 is trying to justify himself by saying no one likes Rifyu anyways. The point of saying "I like Rifyu comics" is not to say you should like them too, or that you are wrong for disliking them. The point is to reaffirm the fact that people do exist that enjoy Rifyu's work, despite whatever opinions 葉月 may have about it.

葉月's mistake is being a selfish and inconsiderate mod, thinking that his opinion trumps many other's. He also abused his powers, and that merits some sort of disciplinary action.

I'd appreciate if this remained civil and didn't devolve into a shit flinging fest. Yes, this is certainly not how moderation is supposed to work, but one major brain fart doesn't devaluate years of hard work.

It seems like Albert wants them to stay and I don't think we've reached a definitive consensus to delete them.

There's countless pictures on danbooru I don't like. The criterion for inclusion shouldn't be how many people dislike the picture, but rather how many people LIKE the picture. And in Rifyu's case, there's tons of fans. And as long as people like them, it should have a place here.

(Personally, I don't think they're masterpieces or anything, but they're amusing.)
