Figured I'd just bump this instead of making a new one. :d and :o by definition require open_mouth.

Kinda feel like :o could use some clean-up. Tagging something like post #801128 with open_mouth seems borderline insane to me.
I was mostly in it for :d, honestly. I don't think it runs into any similar issues, and a glance through :d -open_mouth seems to bring up *almost* nothing but images that ought to be tagged open mouth. One problem I see is grin, though I'm not sure if that should be tagged together with :d to begin with, as it's a bit redundant. Those can be cleaned up beforehand.
I actually agree with that usage of :o, so I'm against the implication for that tag. Technically :d can have mouths that small as well, but they generally have to be drawn bigger to show the curvature without it having hilarious proportions.

Yeah, that's certainly not :o. In my opinion, :o is anytime the mouth appears circular or nearly circular, regardless of size. I can't even make out a circle at all there.
I'm kinda think the tag use in post #801128 is right though. IMO, :o is for all mouth shapes that could result in "Oh" or "Oo" sound.
Agreeing with Bloodletter and rantuyetmai. Ideally I would call them :o and :O depending on how wide the mouth is open, but since it's impossible, combining with open_mouth for :O remains the best thing to do imho.
Also +1 to :d -> open_mouth. This one is a lot more specific.
EDIT: or maybe declare :o ambiguous and make a little_:o and a wide_:o tag, or :o and :ooo.
Sounds a bit weird though.
That's too complicated. I don't see why open mouth can't just be for mouths that are actually obviously *open* in some form. So if we're including stuff like that post in :o, then no implication to open_mouth.
:D to open mouth makes more sense for reasons Boodletter stated. Done.
