Charisma Break Pool

Posted under General

ok. I'm the one who created the pool in the first place. if you want the definition changed, just tell me what to put.

honestly, from the forums that I'm reading about questioning pools for all kinds of reasons such as "it should be a tag" or "why is that even a pool?" if that's how everyone feels, then why not just get rid of the pools and add a tage for what they mean? a charisma_break tag or a disgustingly_cute tag?

Bump.

I'll clean this pool back to the definition of having both 'charisma' and 'break' moments in the same image.

No objection accepted since you've had 5 months time and didn't do that.

E: Done.

Updated

I did note everyone's reasoning. And even waited 5 hours since the bump to begin the cleaning.

I eliminated all posts with only the character acting weak/embarrassed without showing their badass side beforehand. There're some borderline cases where:

* The normal emotion before the break was too ordinary - not charismatic nor cool nor overtly calm at all (e.g. post #647109).

  • The 'break' was too weak that it's hardly one (e.g. post #438452).

I tossed them all out. There'll be disagreement, but hey, a single person is doing this so obviously it will be biased toward my judgment. Feel free to add anything in, it's a public pool after all.

It'd be nicer if you pointed out to me which posts I shouldn't have deleted from the pool. Giving just one line like that is confusing and time-wasting.

  • Both 'charismatic' and 'broken' version of the character must present within the same image, and are consequential events (i.e. a cool mode and embarrassed mode presented separately in expression charts does not count).

I believe this is too specific. I think it should be just if there is a contrast shown between 'charismatic' and 'broken', and it need not be on the same image, but a related image also counts (but only the 'broken' image is added to the pool).

eg.
post #499660 (no prior version, but there is contrast between 'charismatic'(other characters) and 'broken'(Remilia))
post #792359 and post #792449 (related to post #792450)
btw. They're already in the pool.

Should comic pages be freed from "in same picture" definition, assuming that one of earlier pages has the character being charismatic and calm?

Yeah, comic pages should be using a different standard. Just because they are on 2 pages shouldn't make the situation different than them being on 2 panels next to each other.

Sounds reasonable. And same answer as above.

post #499660 (no prior version, but there is contrast between 'charismatic'(other characters) and 'broken'(Remilia))

Honestly, if I don't know about Remy at all, this hardly become a joke about charisma break to me. Images like these should go to pool Touhou - Let's ridicule Remilia or something.

Well, since it's literal I guess it belongs.

I think it might belong - it's clearly made around that theme, and someone tagged it charisma break on Pixiv.

Look like someone else remove it from the pool, because I didn't =P. post #499660 could be accepted based on the reason Stealthjet proposed - the highlighted contrast in charisma and cowardice. If it's solely about the meme of breaking Remilia, then it's removable. The meme is probably solid enough to make a new pool, and my proposal was only half-joke... Although, don't do it please.

Thanks Baneslave for getting around the deleted posts, I forgot them.
