A bamboo broom is made of bamboo, and the bamboo is applied to other things made from bamboo so it seems consistent to how it is tagged so far.

So should bamboo chopsticks and bamboo flooring get the bamboo tag? Look at the tag; nearly every post is for the plant growing out of the ground, so Cyberia-Mix is correct on not implicating.

Hmm, well if you were searching for "bamboo" images, would you want to find stuff like post #862660? or post #419287?

Would you want to find them if you were searching bamboo_broom, for that matter? Would you want to find post #248049 if you were searching for shanghai_doll? This has more to do with our policy of tagging incidental/minor image features than it does with any inherent problem with the implication.

There isn't much point in having a bamboo_forest tag if we're going to limit bamboo to pictures with the plant growing out of the ground.

If people are really concerned about searching problems, we could make a bamboo_item tag for brooms, stilts, spears, and such, then implicate bamboo_item to bamboo, but it seems obvious to me that adding bamboo_broom should add bamboo by some means.

Incidentally, does anyone know what these things in post #376387 and post #439612 are?

kadomatsu, but I'm just lucky I met them tagged before.

I just think bamboo_broom is getting a bit too different from natural bamboo to make the implication worth. A kadomatsu -> bamboo implication would make sense to me however.

Will it? Now that I consider it, I really don't see any difference between bamboo_forest and forest bamboo. The only time bamboo_forest would be useful is in cases where a single stalk of bamboo appears in a deciduous forest, which are cases that don't exist.

Its a matter of specificity, at least to me. A bamboo forest is sufficiently different from the typical image of a forest to warrant its own tag.

There is such a thing as being too specific. Especially when existing tags work fine.

A bamboo forest is sufficiently different from the typical image of a forest to warrant its own tag.

Considering that everyone was content with just tagging it bamboo and forest until now, I doubt that. Now, if it were something fantastical, like a forest of mushrooms, that might deserve its own tag, but there's nothing farfetched about a forest of bamboo.

post #96186, post #32740 post #696762 show that you can have bamboo in a forest.

First one is something that I would want in a forest bamboo search. I don't even see a forest in the second and third one.

If you wanted bamboo_forest in gensokyo, you could use both bamboo_forest and touhou.

At any rate, I tagged every instance of bamboo_forest.

I found several instances of bamboo in a forest that isn't a bamboo_forest, so I still support this tag.

also

create implication kadomatsu -> bamboo

I don't really know what a kadomatsu is.

Also I want to say

create implication tanabata -> bamboo since bamboo seems to part of the equation, but I've seen versions that don't seem to have bamboo in it.

Tanabata is a holiday. Bamboo is part of it, but by no means is it ever-present. So, -1 to the implication.

Also, you don't need to prefix every alias/implication with "create."
