But... Is it not a bit of a problem that Siegfried is a first name not exclusive to one series?

I have yet to see it used for any other purpose or character, except possibly the Persona of the same name in the Persona games.

Should it come up again, either the alias can be undone, or qualifiers can be applied.

Well, at first, I was just thinking Wagner. Then it occurred to me that his operas are not necessarily among the everyday inspirations for manga and anime style art. (Mystia Lorelei's name just might have a vague connection to "Der Ring des Nibelungen", though.)

So, before posting my earlier comment, I did a tag search and found Siegfried Kircheis, 10 posts, of "Legend of the Galactic Heroes".

I think the tag should just be renamed to siegfried_schtauffen, no alias.

Too bad there is no disambiguation function. Like, "You are attempting to add an ambiguous tag. Maybe you meant siegfried_schtauffen or siegfried_kircheis."

I got a "Maybe you meant: siegfried_kircheis" disambiguation prompt when I do a basic search for siegfried.

Still, a way to disambiguate tags while entering them might be a pretty useful feature, though I'd have no idea how to implement it. I'll suggest it in the Danbooru 2 topic.

In many cases, the mere given name is strongly associated with only one copyright, and other characters with the same name are clearly "secondary".

Siegfried, however, is a good example of the opposite. Which one is "primary", Schtauffen or Kircheis? Probably depends on whether you are into gaming or into space opera.

Siegfried is a generic enough name that it should not be aliased.

That's a possibility, but as siegfried_(soul_calibur) currently has no images in it, I don't see much point.

Number of posts weighs heavily in me deciding if I'll do a single name alias, and I almost always decide not to. This only had 9 posts, so moving it was correct.

I also renamed the one applicable deleted post, and renamed the code geass mecha to siegfried_(code_geass). But it only has one post and it's deleted. Although if it's in other posts and someone wants to stat using it, go ahead.
