Plaster also means something else.

You're quite right. However, it's not been used once in that way in any of the posts tagged with it. I can't think of many situations where wall-type plaster would need to be tagged either.

So perhaps there shouldn't be an alias? The current plaster tags can be changed to bandaid and the plaster tag could be reserved for wall-type plaster?

Band-Aid is a brand name, though going by wikipedia it's become something of a genericized trademark in the US, Cananda, Brazil, Australia, and India. Even though it's a brand name, the things were invented and sold under that brand since the 1920's so it's been around more than long enough to become a regular word (much like the word cola itself is derived from Coca-Cola, but the company gave up cola to prevent Coke becoming the one that was genericized).

In the end I wouldn't really care if it ends up aliased to adhesive bandage though.

While we try to accommodate UK English variants where possible, I'd prefer not to do so where the variant means something dramatically different in American English (the main site language).

Looking at the images though, I think plaster was being used to reference a cast in some of them, not bandaids. We also have bandages which is more appropriate for things that are not Watanabe Akio's favorite fashion accessory.

I'd be more up for aliasing plaster to cast if we do anything, because I have heard casts described as such pretty often. Usually as "plaster cast", though...

I've moved the few plaster images to cast where appropriate. The only one I'm unsure of is post #461077. bandages seems too extreme, but they don't look like bandaids. And it's obviously not a cast.

Thanks for the clarification.

I actually changed the tags on some images which had 'plaster' instead of 'bandaid' or both a while before, changing to bandaid or removing plaster where appropriate.

The final image you link looks like it has knuckle supports in it, similar to ankle supports. Not sure how I'd tag that though, since there doesn't seem to be any 'support' type tag in use.
