Tag explanations?

Posted under General

I used to see, when searching for a single tag, a little blurb in the lower-left corner of the page explaining what the tag meant if there was an accompanying wiki entry. It doesn't seem to be there anymore. Is this something I can toggle, or just something the site has done away with?

(If it's the latter, it would be nice if it was brought back. It was a neat feature.)

It was annoying for long wiki entries that extend the page, because in Opera I'm used to just press the spacebar to go to the next page, but if the page is too long all this does is scroll down the wiki entry, so I need to press the spacebar two or three times.

Having the sidebar taller than the content is definitely a disadvantage in that respect, so I like this change. It's rare that I need to read the wiki anyway.

I wish wikis were still where they used to be. Having to toggle them is just extra time and clicking without really saving any screen space.

The other problem I have with it is that this new setup makes it less likely that inexperienced users will see them (since they won't know to click that link) -- and those are the people who need to see them the most.

Yeah, this.

I'd much rather have the Wiki in the old place below the tags, and just have it cut off the entry with a "more..." -option in case it is too long to fit into the usual page layout.

This. The tag list could also be made shorter to better accommodate wiki entries. There's really no need for the tag list to be as long as it is.

I don't think the tag list needs to be shortened, since it always worked fine before. The wiki entry itself could be shorter though, as the first few sentences are the most important.
