Comment Voting Not Working

Posted under General

If I may be as bold, how about marking comments that require a more technical-related reponse? Like translation requests, artist name romanization issues, copyright requests, tagging dilemmas/disputes, etc?

Something as simple as a checkbox could be used to flag them as such. I realize it'll be open to abuse, but when I view the comments, I'm normally looking for things like these.

Like I've said before, I think trying to police comments is a losing battle.

If so, why are you concerned about anyone hiding comments? Not to mention you effectively prevent the community from caring about comments, because if anyone ever feels like marking the worst offenders, they'll immediately be dissuaded by the ridiculously low limit. Also, IIRC the comments limit is 10 per hour. Which means a bad commenter can fire them at 3x the rate anyone could try to vote them down.

The rating system itself needs an explanation (should there already be one: an explanation a user can read without searching the forum first).
One user might just vote down comments he thinks of as spam while another user might vote every comment down he doesn't like (such as comments about how "this picture is so cuuute~~ XD")
I can't see the number of votes next to the comments, but is a comment really below threshold with a -1 score?

Would it be possible to allow to cancel your own vote (like voting a second time in the other way or with some cancel vote button) for when you vote a comment by accident?
It just happened to me and I'm probably not alone.

It's a minor issue compared to the potential abuses with the voting system right now but still.
