Danbooru

New here :3 Question~

Posted under General

Not trying to be mean here, but there's something you should know before posting: People here will yell at you and hit you with a stick if you use emotes too much, or in a manner that hinders the readability of your text.

Anyway, the forums here are only supposed to be used for matters pertaining to the Danbooru website (such as ways to improve it, for example), so you can't use it make threads about personal stuff or any sort of commerce.

And before anyone says it: Do not post your own art here, or else you'll be hit with an even larger stick.

That being said, welcome to Danbooru, and remember to just enjoy the site above all else :]

Yet I find it an interesting question, in principle, how much Danbooru is for marketing works by artists who get uploaded by others.

I mean, I would only be happy if Aizawa Kotarou's artist page featured a link to a non-Japanese site selling his artbooks, provided that he has published any.

And I honestly believe that many Danbooru members would be equally happy if this community could help some good but underrated artists make a modest living in addition to just making them generally more popular.

That is the high ideal, anyway. Taking such ideals into practice can get unbelievably complicated and messy, when money is involved.

Yeah, just to chime in as an admin, uploading your own art is not allowed. There's also not much of a focus on Western artists. It's also not suited for selling art or linking to such things. Seek other outlets that are better set up to handle that kind of communication.
