If there is a rule saying no uploading game CG, why has so much been uploaded?

Hmm... I have no idea where the line is drawn then. I don't think there was a "status:deleted" when I was a contributor. I thought it just brought up posts with no thumbnail or content. I might be thinking of how it worked before we held on to deleted content.

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but when I was a Member, I'm pretty damn sure I could search for status:deleted posts. The only difference with being a Privileged member (and I'll assume the same for Contributors) is that now there's an extra link to status:deleted in the UI. But we can only see the thumbnails, and not view the images in full.

Though, there's still a way to do view posts in full. You can just right-click a thumbnail, go to "Copy image address", paste it into your address bar, and remove the text "preview/" from it. It doesn't work for all posts for some reason, but it still generally works.

In any case, all members of Danbooru can see deleted thumbnails - which is often a good-enough indicator of what crappy content is.

Or you can simply click the "Size" link under Statistics at the post's page. All users can do that as well.

Not necessarily, since deleted content includes duplicates and variations of good quality posts. Honestly, I was expecting to see worse than what those thumbnails are telling to me.

Anyway, thank you guys for taking the time to advise me and -- hopefully -- further sort out this question for future reference.

EDIT: Taking a closer look, it turns out many of those deleted pics that draw my positive attention at first glance are indeed duplicates or photoshops of accepted pics.

I will give this some thought.

I remember a post by 葉月 claiming he hates her work with a passion or something along those lines. I'm genuinely curious.

I just checked-over some of the artist's work, and they seem fine, really. Some of her work does come-across as sort of generic, but I don't see anything blatantly bad. Though, that's not too far-off par with any other artist that someone likes - there's usually always gonna be content you like, and content that makes you go "meh".

In any case, though, I just think it's a matter of differentiating taste. People like or dislike certain things to different degrees, and sometimes they choose to be more verbose about it.

Maybe the artist's drawing style just emits a sense of "generic-ness" to him?

Edit: After digging into the artist's game_cg work, I think I kinda see where 葉月 is coming from. But overall, I'd say that most of her work is still pretty cute.

...I don't really get it - It's not like the proportions and artistic skill go haywire or poof up into the air when she switches to a CG program. It's just a different style.

But whatever, to each his own.

I disagree with Hazuki's first two examples but Carnelian is hit or miss for me. Some of her CGs are nice, some are mediocre. This is the problem with game CGs: very capable artists are forced to mass produce a lot of art and some of it ends up being crappy. Even nijiiro_zakura isn't immune to this.

Uploading 3-4 screens from a game is acceptable but you reach a point where you have a hard time deciding what makes the grade and what doesn't, because there's this tendency to just upload everything.
