Danbooru

Uploading of unofficial edited images

Posted under General

That is to say, images which originally had a physically small but very noticeable unintended failure of anatomy and the like, the edited version of which would presumably be a child post to the original. Allowable? Allowable but utterly disrespectful? Just plain straight-up verboten?

...it's just such a shame with otherwise aesthetically excellent or compelling pieces. And yes I am being OCPD >.>

That is an icky area. In theory it makes sense to correct things that are clearly wrong, but that opens the door to all kinds of abuse. That said, I have uploaded photoshops to correct anatomy failures as well as gifs of sequential pics myself before, so it wouldn't be entirely honest for me to say they're entirely verboten. However, you should restrict such uploads strictly to correcting obvious, glaring faults on otherwise good pictures.

And if you (grammatical "you" here) ever go in the direction of uncensored or nude_filter, I will hit you with a stick.

Gotcha.

No.

If the image isn't good enough to be on danbooru without photoshopping, then it shouldn't be here.

If a little mistake ruins the image, well, there are millions of others out there. That or just deal with the mistake.

Or if someone feels they must "fix" it, up it to photobucket or something and link in the comments, at most. Don't upload it here.

Its right above your reply.

Mot of the time moe.imouto.org will have done this already (if it's a Megami scan and the like) but if not, this is allowed. Magazine/artbook/doujin scans are different from typical fanart. And cleaning up image quality is vastly different from actually altering the composition of the image. When I used "fixed" in my reply, it was in response to people who try to "fix" an image by redrawing portions.

And though I also don't have a big problem with de-texted magazine scans, again that's more moe.imouto's forte. If uploaded, the original with text would be desired as the parent as well.
