Aliases and Mass Edit

Quick question. I just suggested the tsukuyomi > tsukuyomi_moonphase alias, and in preparation mass edited the former to the latter.

First, it was 197 posts, I hope that wasn't too much. I know you said not to mass edit REALLY huge tags (like panties), but this one didnt seem too bad.

Secondly, for future reference, is it even necessary to mass edit if an alias is implemented? Or is that taken care of automatically? I use mass edit often, but pretty much just for artists.

Creating a new alias should change all the old tags. The only issue is that these changes won't be saved in the tag history, so reverting them will be very hard.

Hmm, so maybe a mass edit before an alias isn't so bad?
