disgaea_1 -> disgaea:_hour_of_darkness
disgaea_2 -> disgaea_2:_cursed_memories
disgaea_3 -> disgaea_3:_absence_of_justice

We have, on multiple occasions (none of which I can recall because I swore this was one of them,) not aliased intuitive title_# tags to non-intuitive title:_subtitle tags. Do it the other way around I guess if people are typing out long-ass titles.

Fake edit: The original titles contain numbers but that doesn't make long unwieldy subtitles any better.

I forgot that the full versions include the number as well.

Even if they didn't, I'd have asked for canonical names that retained them: it's way easier to keep track of what's what in a series you're only superficially familiar with if there are numbers.

Do we really want to do this, given that the subtitles were created for the American release anyway? We tend to prefer using the Japanese for tags, after all.

For reference, the Japanese names are makai_senki_disgaea, makai_senki_disgaea_2 and makai_senki_disgaea_3. I have no opinion on this whatsoever.

If the subtitles are a Western creation then I wouldn't want to put these through.

However aliasing them to makai_senki_disgaea_# does sound like a good idea...

Leaving them alone is a good compromise between the long Japanese titles and the English titles. :I

They are, and there are multiple ones for some games too (the first two games have different subtitles for their PSP versions).

Makai_senki_disgaea isn't terribly confusing or anything, so I'd support settling on that as the canonical titles.

That seems reasonable. And the we can leave the global copyright as just "Disgaea", so we don't have to put a number on the first game when it shouldn't have one. Which bugs me beyond all reason.
