lolita_fashion - Is this tag necessary?

Posted under General

I don't really think it is, we have tags for things like sweet_lolita and gothic_lolita to specify type, and we have lolita to encompass the fashion as an entirety; lolita_fashion is the same thing as the lolita tag. I suggest we either alias lolita_fashion to lolita, or lolita to lolita_fashion. I'd prefer to stick with lolita as that's what we've been using for quite some time, and I believe lolita_fashion came from the tag on moe.imouto.org (?).

You can just say "bump" or "any thoughts on this?" instead of sighing. =P

Anyway, no, lolita_fashion does not appear to be needed as a separate tag, and if anything we could alias it to lolita (as you mention) since lolita here is established and well defined.

Well, it's hard for me to keep up with every thread on the forum, and even if I do see a thread the first time around, I might not have a comment right away and instead opt to see other opinions first. If those opinions don't materialize then the thread can start to slip down. That's why bumping (after a reasonable period of time, like a day or two) is allowed on these forums.

Since nobody has objected I've aliased lolita_fashion to lolita.

I was actually going to suggest doing it the other way around so people don't mix up loli and lolita but I am 100% certain someone would run around waving their arms about how lolita is an established tag and how dare I suggest it doesn't stay, so this way is fine too.

Well, I don't think I'd need to run around or wave my arms to point out that, yes, it's worked perfectly well as lolita all this time. That doesn't mean we can't use lolita_fashion obviously, but I really don't have a preference either way.

Okay, I'll switch it to lolita_fashion. Although now I have to fix it in the wiki articles it's linked to too. It would be awesome of aliasing a tag somehow then scanned the wiki and automatically updated any linked instance of the tag to the new tag... but probably not realistic.

Edit: also added implications from gothic/sweet/wa_lolita to lolita_fashion.
