Danbooru

my image got deleted?

Posted under General

Fact number two on that page says:

"An image is approved if anyone from the above group likes it enough to approve it."

That pretty much sums it up. Standards are formed by the judgment of a select group of individuals. In order for an image to pass, it not only has to comply with the Terms of Service, but it must be deemed by the moderators to be of high quality.

I suggest watching a little what gets approved and what doesn't, to get a feel for it.

The image in question was fine the compression artifacts on it were horrible, though.

(I wasn't going to respond because this isn't something that should be handled in it's own thread but whatever.)

Compression artifacts?

(gotto look that up)

well alright I'll keep a notice at that point'

2nd question, is this site a database for pictures? (instead of simply adding images)
because i got a whole collection stored here (+charac/serie infos) ^^

I'm not exactly sure what your question is asking. If you mean to ask whether uploaded images need to be drawn illustrations rather than images of text or charts or whatever, than almost always yes.

Although there are some acceptable posts with charts or a lot of text, there should always be a good quality and relevant illustration included for it to be acceptable for upload.

Please use the deletion appeal thread in the future when you want to question an image deletion.

As Shinjidude said, uploads to danbooru should almost always be drawn images of characters or mecha, either original or from an existing series. Off the top of my head there are no exceptions I'd approve of, and if I racked my brains a bit more I'd still come up with very very few.

I didn't ask it right I guess

what I meant was, if this site is striving for a complete database of Images, because i got a whole bunch on my pc, including various information such as character names, serie names etc

-edit-
i've never joined an image board before, so don't mind if my question is weird ^^

The site is striving for a database of images of exceptional quality, not a "complete database of images". So if you want to contribute, I implore you to only submit the very, very best of those images.
