Invisible notes and better note box location

Just a suggestion when I saw this:

Try to point your mouse on the new characters, and you'll see that the note box appears with the information/translation near your mouse.

Just wondering if we can have something similar to that.

I like our note system. I don't think we should change it; not to mention the ugly bordered box that appears around the character is not visually appealing at all.

On this site's notes, is there a way to implement two toggle points, another in the opposite corner? It'd make right-side sizing a bit simpler, and help with positioning the lower right corner on small note boxes (maybe...).

Translation notes should stay the way they are.

Something like this would, however, be useful in the few incidents where we use notes to identify characters in an image (in which case I wouldn't mind the bordered box). I doubt it's worth the effort, though.

Well, you can feel free to use translation boxes in such a manner, but expect them to be deleted since they aren't translations. An exception is in name characters posts, where there a bunch of tiny characters and it's not really obvious who is who.

The biggest problem with those notes is that there's no indication that they're there.

It is tough to balance making the note noticeable, but not get in the way of the image. I think our current system does a pretty good job. In cases where the notes do get in the way just one click on the image and the notes hide themselves. Another click and they reappear.

Yeah, I'd rather stick to the notes we have.
