Tag Suggestion: Single Persons

Posted under General

Would it be possible to create a tag that states that an image only has one person in it? It seems a bit useless at first but I think it presents one large benefit. Say we use 1person as a tag; it would allow users to search for ex. hakurei_reimu and find images that contain ONLY reimu. I know that you can use ex. touhou hakurei_reimu -kirisame_marisa etc. but it seems more feasible to just search hakurei_reimu 1person and find all images containing only her.

I don't know if this has been discussed before but I would personally like having a tag like this.

I feel almost obligated to mention wontfix #482 whenever this comes up... Don't mind me.

If the search is too resource-intensive, I wonder if it would be possible to run a script that detects the amount of character tags and adds solo automatically. That'd only have to be done once (in a while) instead of for every search.

One problem I can see with this is that there may very well be unlabeled or generic characters in addition to the ones tagged. In which case the automatic tagging would introduce noise.

I like the trac idea too, and at least there it is only claiming that there is a certain number of a certain tagtype, which will be true whether or not there are untagged characters currently.

It's no worse than the "score:" metatag, right?

Score probably has a column in a table somewhere, whereas counting the number of character tags, etc. would require new columns in the database to be created, and updated whenever tags were edited. Every time the tags on a post were changed, each tag would need to be checked for what type it was, and the count would have to be updated accordingly. Much worse, whenever a tag's type were changed, all posts containing that tag would need to have their counts recalculated. Etc. etc.

So it's certainly worse than score: metatag, which just naturally translates into SQL. But I don't know, it still might be within acceptable standards to albert.

I just went though hirasawa_yui and tagged solo.

When I type solo after her name, I get few images that I tagged; when I type solo before her name, they show up properly.
Did I do something wrong?

EDIT: on further inspection it only displays the first page.

Maybe it needs to update? Make a ticket about this.

I can confirm those results. Huh, that's... odd. I've never seen order of tags affect results before.
