Got confused (ouendan)

I just tagged all the Osu! Tatake! Ouendan pics with ouendan (and the sequal's wallpapers with ouendan_2, since the full title is beyond my certainty).

In checking the sequel's title, I saw that "ouendan" is a generic term as well, but briefly parlancing some of the tag's pics, I'm not sure what it's [meant to be] used for, and there's no wiki.

"ouendan" means "support team" (i.e. a cheerleading squad) in Japanese.

Also, what the fuck does "parlancing" mean?

Parlance basically means the same as jargon.
Parlancing, however, is not a word.

For the love of god, don't default to 'sound fancy' mode. Ever.

Unless there's any difference between a Japanese cheer squad and others, I see no reason to not just use cheerleader as the descriptive tag. Wikipedia suggests there is a difference, though (devoting a separate article to "Ōendan"), so...

I'd suggest using cheerleader for what the west generally considers the term to be (girls in skirts) and use oendan for the Japanese version, guys (or girls) in the more traditional uniforms doing a cheer.

I blame the guy with the hex name for using a bar over his o's.

I was referring to the wikipedia article which is in actuality named "Ōendan" and has "Ōendan" in its URL. Note that elsewhere I referred to the word as "ouendan". And that bar is called a macron, by the way.
