wink->one_eye_open and blush->rosy_cheeks aliases.

This came into question in another topic and threatened to derail it so I am taking it to a new thread.

I think this is a good idea. We already use wink for any image where the girl has one eye open and one closed, no matter if she's winking, just waking up, rubbing her eye, whatever. The same goes for blush--we use it for any image where a girl a red cheeks (at least I do, hah).

The problem with both blush and wink is that they're at least somewhat subjective, as they are quite specific actions. Wink especially is something a person does, so any ol' picture with one eye closed technically doesn't qualify. So I suggest to alias these terms going from subjective-sounding action tag to observable descriptive tag. In other words, one_eye_open and rosy_cheeks, respectively. The only bad part about this is that these tags are longer, but we could obviously still use the aliased terms when tagging the image.

Discuss. Also, there are probably other terms like this we're using currently that could be more descriptive.

No, no, no. Wink is a very fine tag, I don't wish to look at the ugliness you propose in its stead. As for blush, it's the tag used for people blushing, which is *not* the same as rosy cheeks. At least I never conflate the two. If you want rosy_cheeks, fine, but start your own tag and stay away from ours.

... why? I would prefer to leave these tags as wink and blush. There's something to be said for conciseness. The common perceptions of the words "wink" and "blush" include connotations that import meaningfulness to those "expressions", but fundamentally "wink" means "one eye open" and "blush" means "red face".

The fact that both of you are fumbling with these tags is due to the fact that they are unwieldy - there's nothing more to it.

EDIT: I should probably refresh threads before I reply to them. By "both of you" I was referring to スラッシュ and NWF Renim.

Remember that they have been used incorrectly before, and that I wasn't the first one to suggest this change, even on this forum. But I guess it's not my problem since I already know how to use the tags anyway.

This seems to support a change more than anything. They are unwieldy, because we are using a made up meaning that has almost nothing to do with the actual term "wink" (leaving rosy cheeks as it is, although I can't think of any image I would tag rosy_cheeks instead of blush).
