Rule 34

Unless it was put forth in some of the posts I passed over, Rule 34, much that someone would think of the rule when looking at a given pic, is more for unexpected porn than simply rare. Calvin and Hobbes is the trademark example, as one wouldn't readily think that someone would want to make or search out porn of it. It's not that the rule_34able material is rare so much as it is unintuitive to the porn 'genre'. However, I wouldn't really add in sexy personifications of things (iPods, game consoles) since they're kinda in "-tan" territory; for it to readily insipre "LOL, Rule #34" in viewers, it'd have to retain enough of the visual (and thematic) qualities of the source material.

This definition is inherently subjective and to a large degree. It is best to limit subjectivity when possible.

In my opinion, Rule 34 is applied more to unexpected porn than just "rare" porn. For example, Calvin and Hobbes is something that one would not expect people to want (or create) porn of. It's not that rule 34 porn is in some sense rare, rather that it's surprising.

Some people also include anthropomorphized items, however I don't believe this material fits in the same category. I think that rule 34 only applies to material that parodies some original source.

The earliest post is an image from Ishikei's blog, the second is a doujinshi scan, and I'm not sure what the one currently in the mod queue is supposed to be. I've went ahead and fixed the three duplicates to be more standardized, so the glans_tickling tag is gone; I doubt anyone will miss it.

Also, I'm not sure how the parent-child relationship should be, but since the images from Ishikei's blog were posted here first, I would also like to change the parenting within pool #702, where the blog images are the parent of the doujinshi scans. Any comments?
