Yeah, they've been made a setting. Since quality control is tighter these things I thought we wouldn't need it as much.

While it's true that quality control is tighter now (probably 90%+ of stuff getting posted is grade A quality), there are also about 103,000 images that were posted before we switched over to private, which probably still includes thousands of images of guro and scat and pissing and semononfigure and other things I had blacklisted that would kind of such to come across as I go through older images. I just came across a nasty guro image from Muvluv when looking through older images in order to find character name to tag an image... =(
Are you saying blacklists are not active at all right now, or that there's somewhere else we need to go to turn them back on?
There still might be stuff that individuals do not want to see that still appeal to many others - in my case yaoi.
(I don't know how much of this stuff remains, but I also had blacklisted "guro" since I dislike blood and guts, "drill" for those awful Nanoha pictures, "semononfigure" since.. euggh, "male" for the same reason as yaoi, "naruto" since I disliked most of the pictures, "furry" and "comics" since these were full of bad American art, "oekaki" since I prefer more detailed art, and user Caprice since she kept uploading yaoi without tagging it etc.)
Sorry to bug you but.. the blacklist doesn't actually seem to do anything - e.g. search for a highly yaoi-centric tag like "rimjob" and despite havine yaoi on my blacklist the images still show. Am I doing something wrong, should I raise a trac, or is it not worth bothering over?
