Canon-related tags [Worst idea ever]

I've made tags for stuff I have on my hard drive, and I have separate tags for appearance and canon information. For example, an anime character who's 3404240856376893746082 years old, but looks like she's 8, could be tagged both with "loli" for her appearance, but "canon_adult" or something, to indicate that in the context of whatever series she's from, she's really not a kid. I think Danbooru could benefit from this in two ways:

1. People who happen to want to look for characters who look young but really aren't, could do so.
2. If these tags were widely used, it would be more likely that the average user who doesn't read the rules, forums, or the wiki, would be aware that tags like "loli" are meant for appearance, not actual storyline info/whatever.

This would also be used for tags like incest, milf, etc., not just loli. Some of the "ELITE" members of DB don't like the "incest" tag, for example, but people should be able to search for characters who are related, even if their being related isn't conveyed through the image alone. Same for characters who are mothers, but don't have the stereotypical "milf" look of curvyness/maturity.

I know it doesn't describe appearance, that's the point of the tag.

Anyway, I can see you guys don't even want to discuss this. Good job reacting to a simple idea with hostility. I'm already a Contributor, so whatever. I'll just stick to occasionally uploading images as a means of giving to the community.

Generally, danbooru doesn't give a fuck about canon. This is an image repository, not a lore repository.

That tag is a bad idea, because it's spoilerific. I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned it yet.

Besides, canon is mutable, appearance isn't. Imagine having to retag former posts after a story revelation. Sure, it could be done, but what a mess.

Danbooru is kind of a WYSIWYG type of site. We tag by the appearance of the character in the image. Of course certain parts of the series affect the tags, but it's on a surface level mostly.

"Canon-related" tags like this delve way too deep into the actual story line, and if this was excusable, people would want other story-related-tags. Then danbooru would be a big mess of unnecessary shit, and let's face it, we already have an excessive amount of useless tags.

I don't think this will pass.

Even with all these additional posts, I still think it's amusing how this thread died with the first "No."
