I was surprised this was not done before, considering short shorts implicates shorts and miniskirt implicates skirt.

Also, should the name of the tag be changed or aliased to "microshorts" to match "microskirt"?

Micro shorts doesn't even have a wiki and this looks like a type of shorts so I'll +1 this.

An alias to match those two tag names sounds good. I say go for it.

On a side note, it'd be nice if the short bottom clothing length ever got standardized. Right now we have short dress, short shorts and miniskirt. One of those does not belong with the others. For reference, minidress used to be a thing until it was aliased to short dress. Shouldn't the same be done with miniskirt, i.e. miniskirt -> short_skirt.

Most of the results I got from googling "short skirt" are miniskirts so at least I'd say the alias would make some sense.

A word isn't a word until it is a word.

Regardless, I'm always in favor of using words or word sets which standardizes the tag ontology on this site. It eases tag recall and reduces the learning curve for new and developing tag gardeners.
