had a DM exchange with MFZbdude regarding the nature of the tag, which seemed to be used just as a placeholder tag before. moving to a better tag name,

They're actually called "half-soles" or "half shoes". At the time I made the tag, I was solely focused on disassociating these images from the ballet_slippers tag so I didn't realize I'd made a mistake in the naming of the tag. There's no real article on the subject, as far as I know, but they're primarily used in rhyhmic gymnastics. Hope that helps!
