The wiki for holding_glass says that someone is holding any type of drinking_glass, so both tags mean the same.

Both tags have almost the same amount of posts, but holding_drinking_glass already has implications to holding and drinking_glass, which is why I suggest aliasing holding_glass to it.

The tag alias holding_glass -> holding_drinking_glass (alias #14965) has conflicting wiki pages. holding_drinking_glass should be updated to include information from holding_glass if necessary.

Yup, this has definitely been a source of confusion for me. I have often thought about whether it applies to holding *actual* glass (as in just, shards of glass), but it doesn't really strike me as that useful.

On that note, perhaps you could also consider holding_drinking_glass implying holding_cup (as a drinking glass is a type of cup)? That implication isn't in place yet.

+1 but one also need to remove the implication from holding_drinking_glass to holding then.

I don’t consider a drinking glass to be a cup.
